One can easily burn hours reading the priceless treasures housed within the Library of Congress. Every book, historical newspaper, artifact, and encyclopedia I encountered became a stepping stone that led me deeper into the world I was weaving—a world anchored in reality yet brushed with the strokes of fiction.
In the midst of this expedition through aged texts and forgotten manuscripts, destiny had a serendipitous encounter awaiting me. A gem that I unearthed in the “New England Farmer” journal, published in December of 1826. Page 164 bore the title “A Profitable Wife”. It narrated the enigmatic tale of a farmer’s wife, who with her resilience, wisdom, and unyielding spirit, became the unsung hero of the farm’s prosperity.
This discovery was not just another piece of information, but a revelation. It embodied the soul of the narrative I was striving to create. It silently spoke from the past one untold stories of countless women who, with their silent strength and unwavering support, contributed to the shaping of our great nation. It illustrated a time where every hand, every effort, and every soul was integral to the community’s survival and prosperity.
I have poured every ounce of my passion, every piece of knowledge garnered from the extensive research into creating “A Profitable Wife”.
